Green Anaconda
Hi! I’m a Green Anaconda
The Green Anaconda is the heaviest snake species in the world! They can weigh up to 250 kg, and reach lengths of 9 m. They live in northern regions of South America, in tropical rainforests with slow moving streams, rivers and flooded grasslands.
The Green Anaconda is non-venomous, and relies on its enourmous and powerful body to catch and constrict prey. They're able to detach their jaw and consume prey much larger than themselves, including deer, capybaras, caimans, and even other anacondas.
The National Zoo & Aquarium is home to 1 Green Anaconda, Ana.
