Barking Owl

Hi! I’m a Barking Owl

The Barking Owl is a medium sized owl, often found on the edges of woodland and farmland. This owl gets its name from its characteristic bark that sounds like that of a dog. Barking owls are monogamous and mate for life. During breeding season, the male will often provide food for their mate.

The National Zoo & Aquarium is home to siblings, Ruby and Rocco.
