Kangaroo Island Kangaroo

Hi! I’m a Kangaroo Island Kangaroo

Kangaroo Island kangaroos are a subspecies of Western Grey Kangaroos, and are found on Kangaroo Island. Is that enough kangaroos for you? They're stockier than mainland kangaroos, and tend to have longer, darker, chocolate-coloured fur. Males are up to two times larger than females. As there are no predators on Kangaroo Island they have evolved to be much more docile than their mainland cousins.

The National Zoo & Aquarium is home to 2 Kangaroo Island Kangaroos: Gurumbul and Natalia.
