Gidgee Skink

Hi! I’m a Gidgee Skink

The Gidgee Skink prefers open woodland and shrubland, where it can shelter between rocks and logs. It lives in several semi-arid regions of Australia, including a number of islands off West Australia. In order to help detect predators, Gidgee Skinks may aggregate in social groups of up to 17 individuals. They form monogamous pairs, and produce one litter per season, though not every female within a group will breed.

The National Zoo & Aquarium is home to 1 Gidgee Skink, Nicole.
